The Hassid's pass by reading for the Torah aloud and I imagine it as funeral rites for the Swan Princess Odette. Odile is who she wishes to remain and so I must respect her wishes. None may force a bloom before its time.
Rings were exchanged and promptly returned to her care, for her to mull over and pontificate upon if she finds herself capable of such a task. The sadness will seep into her person over time and I will have satisfaction in a job well done.
Once again, dear wounded wolf Fenris made himself the fool for her affections, and once more he learnt himself a valuable lesson. I dug my unicorn spear deep into her third eye and broke it off, polishing my remnant into a glistening diamond. None may hurt this form.
But burrowed deep into her skull is my memory of Love. Unconditional and supportive Love, the kind that never wavers nor wanes. A jagged emotional scar across her psyche, to match the one that mars her thigh. A broken, twisted, crystalline icicle of bitterness and sadness that I carried for her over the months since she met me.
Becoming an agent is hard on us all, though over time it becomes lessened for me as I begin to hope there is another way. Scold me as a hopeful optimistic but I always see an opportunity of redemptive potential in all beings, especially those that lash ourselves the hardest for our flaws.
All I can do, all I've ever done, is shown how the acceptance and positivity of a different life can greatly alter the outcome of our fate. The rest is up to the individual to let the goodness enrich their souls and evolve into the higher beings we wish to become. But to allow happiness reign upon our hearts for even a moment, well, that's the greatest battle of all.
For now the Swan is dead.
